Cyber Monday 2021 live blog: Best early deals so far

You thought Black Friday was over? HAHAHA. Black Friday deals remain online even after the big event, sometimes for days, and that makes it doubly hard to figure out which sales are still worthwhile compared to those trickling in before Cyber Monday dawns. Our Black Friday team — now swapping on our Cyber Monday hats — is hard at work sifting through every sale, including biggies like Walmart, Amazon, Target and Best Buy, to bring you the best Black Friday deals carrying over and great Cyber Monday deals as they trickle in.

Keep in mind Cyber Monday deals are almost always renamed and repromoted versions of the same Black Friday deals. You may see some new items on sale for Monday, but that’s actually pretty rare. If you see a live deal you like, we recommend pouncing on it. And a spreadsheet for tracking prices can be a serious shopper’s best friend.

Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook: $329 (save $101)

This Lenovo 13-inch Chromebook two-in-one is a great option if you need a Chromebook for all-day use in a travel-friendly size. It has a full HD display as well as excellent performance and battery life for the money, thanks to an Intel Core i3-10110U processor, 4GB RAM and a 64GB solid-state drive. The Lenovo Flex is not a great Chromebook choice for outdoor use since the display is pretty dim. For the price though, it’s an acceptable sacrifice.

Amazon Fire TV Omni Series: from $300 (save $110)

This year Amazon began making its own television sets that ran the Fire TV OS alongside the Insignia and Toshiba models that do the same. The Omni Series offers hands-free TV with Alexa and Dolby Vision, where the 4-Series has a few less features but comes in a bit cheaper. There are multiple sizes available for each model.

Amazon Smart Soap Dispenser: $38, all-time low (save $17)

I tested the Amazon automatic dispenser and was wholly impressed. It has a sturdy build, consistent discharge of soap and it times your 20-second scrub to keep things compliant with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. I’d say it’s a bit overpriced at $55 so grab it now while it’s 31% off.

Nespresso Vertuo Plus: from $120 (save up to $45)

Making a delicious cup of coffee at home just got a whole lot more affordable with these great Nespresso deals. You can make coffee, iced coffee, espresso and much more with just the tap of a button. The roast is consistent every time and the Nespresso does all the work for you, there’s no settings to change or anything based on the pod you use.

Anova Pro Nano sous vide precision cooker: $99 (save $30)

Making a delicious cup of coffee at home just got a whole lot more affordable with these great Nespresso deals. You can make coffee, iced coffee, espresso and much more with just the tap of a button. Fire HD 10: $75 (best price ever)

Beats wireless earbuds

Beats Flex: $39 (save $31)

There are a couple of Beats headphones on sale this weekend, but even discounted they can be a little pricey. If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, the Beats Flex are a great option. On the calendar, Black Friday takes place on Friday, Nov. 26 — the day after Thanksgiving — but Black Friday sales are alive and well. To help navigate the pandemonium, here’s a handy guide of what you can expect on sale when and where:

  • Amazon: While plenty of great early sales are happening now, Amazon just released a sneak peek of its main Black Friday event, which will run from Nov. 25 through 26. It’s a little less detailed than previous versions, but it still helps give you an idea of what’s to come.
  • Best Buy: After much anticipation, Best Buy has finally outlined what its Black Friday sales will look like. Plenty of deals are already available and a few more will be added tomorrow, on Nov. 21, Wednesday Nov. 24, and Thursday Nov. 25. Both current and upcoming deals are viewable on its Black Friday homepage.
  • Walmart: Walmart has had deals running all November, and it’s already released a full slate of deals that start on Nov. 22. From cheap AirPods Pro to discounted TVs and next-gen console stock, you won’t want to miss out on any of it.
  • Target: Deals have been running all November, and now the retailer has listed its full deals slate for Black Friday week. Bigger, better offers start this Sunday, Nov. 21. Its current best deals are live at this page

In short, there are a lot of things worth considering to buy right now instead of waiting for Black Friday. Amazon just kicked off one of its biggest discounts of the year, with tons of its own hardware that’s heavily discounted. We have highlighted more below, but some of the key deals here include:

While these deals will likely last for a while, it’s entirely possible that the most affordable products here start to sell out or go on backorder. Be sure to shop all of Amazon’s Black Friday deals now.

We’ve already had two Walmart Black Friday shopping events this month, and the big one is set to kick off on Nov. 22. From $89 AirPods to $229 4K TVs, Walmart is going all-out this Black Friday (and will even have stock of the PS5 and Xbox Series X).

RCA Home theater projector

Save $50

This LCD/LED projector has a 720p resolution on a screen up to 100 inches and comes with a Roku Express Plus to make streaming your favorite movies on the big screen easier than ever.

It seems we finally know when Best Buy’s Black Friday event is happening – pretty much right now! The retailer just released another big wave of deals, along with some details about what we can expect next week. There will be a few more items added in the coming days (scheduled for Sunday Nov. 21, Wednesday Nov. 24, and Thursday Nov. 25) including $150 off the MacBook Air and $280 of KitchenAid stand mixers, but it seems like the bulk of the deals are happening already.

Apple watch SE

Save $60

The Apple Watch SE has been a hot item this holiday season, and Best Buy is the first major retailer to have it on sale. The $219 price is for the 40mm mode, but the 44mm model is $60 off as well (selling for $249). These watches come in lots of cool color combinations, but are selling out quickly (some colors are already gone), so we recommend moving fast on this deal. They also have a free six-month subscription to Apple Fitness Plus.

iRobot Roomba i3 Plus robot vacuum

Save $200

With the Roomba i3 Plus, the most work you’ll have to do is set it up. Its sensors can distinguish between carpet and hardwood, and can even detect the dirtiest part of your home, so it knows where to concentrate its efforts. It will even empty itself, so you hardly have to think about it.

This year, Amazon’s Black Friday deal press release was much more vague than it usually is, so we don’t have a great idea of what exactly the online retail giant plans to do next week. The company offered up some generic outlines of deals, like select percentages off of brands, but not specific pricing on specific items.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Save $50

The Galaxy Watch has been giving the Apple Watch a run for its money in recent years. The Samsung smart watch combines the wellness tracking of a Fitbit with all the connectivity of your phone. Track your heart rate and sleep patterns as well as field calls and texts easily. Released only earlier this year, this is the lowest price we’ve seen on the Galaxy Watch 4.

You can always find headphones on sale during Black Friday events, but finding the right balance between a good deal and a good set of headphones can be a challenge. Here’s a selection of what we’ve found so far.

Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones

Save $50

The newest addition to the QuietComfort line, the QC45, is now on sale for the lowest price yet. These headphones haven’t been out for long, and they’re rated among the best headphones you can get.

Save $32 (lowest price to date)

These Sony headphones offer better noise cancellation and better overall sound quality than the AirPods Pro. And they’re currently selling for their lowest price to date.

Televisions frequently fill out Black Friday sale pages, but it’s not always easy to tell which sales are actually worthwhile. Here are some deals on good TVs worth adding to your shopping cart.

Save $140

With Fire TV built right into this 55-inch 4K TV, streaming your favorite movies just got even easier. The Alexa Voice Remote makes navigating the interface a breeze, and the 4K display will have all of your shows looking their absolute best.

Save $220

This midrange TV is pretty much the baseline for very good image quality. It’s one of the least expensive TVs with full-array local dimming, which lets it serve up good-looking high dynamic range video, and also includes variable refresh rate for gaming. We didn’t like it as much as the TCL 6-Series in our side-by-side comparison, but it does cost less.

M1-based MacBook Air

Save $100 (available in select colors)

The latest in Apple’s line of lightweight laptops, the updated 2020 MacBook Air features an M1 processor and a dazzling 13.3-inch Retina display. At only 2.8 pounds, this ultrathin laptop delivers powerful performance in a sleek, compact package. These are pretty popular, and while they can sell out frequently, it looks like Amazon is restocking them in smaller batches. So don’t fret if you missed your chance to snag one, there’s a good chance it will be back in a few hours.

More great laptop deals:
